Biography
After
16 years in the music industry, Dov Teta has embarked on a new journey
to help his clients and associates maximize their exposure and reach
new eyes in the entertainment world.
Dov's career in the music industry began in 1993 as an intern at Long
Island's rock station WRCN 103.9. He learned the business from the ground
up, driving the prize van from one remote location to another, assisting
the DJs as they made promotional appearances and distributing giveaway
items to enthusiastic crowds.
After
receiving his degree in Business Management and Marketing, Dov landed
a position in the marketing department at Mayhem Records in New York
City. Dov handled tour and retail marketing for bands such as Dio, My
Dying Bride, Cradle of Filth, Anathema, Nothingface and Pist*On while
learning the tricks of the trade in the publicity, sales and production
departments. In 1997 he was promoted to Director of Production, overseeing
studio recording budgets, artwork layout, promotional materials, manufacturing,
inventory control and public relations.
After the demise of Mayhem Records in 1999, Dov became assistant to
the advertising sales manager at Sterling/MacFadden Magazines whose
roster included, among several other music-oriented publications, the
two premiere metal titles: METAL EDGE and METAL MANIACS. A short time
later, with a bit of luck & timing, Dov's strong impression over
his first six months led to his promotion to Director of Advertising;
a position he would hold for the next nine and a half years.
From 2000 to 2009 Dov brought in over $9.5 million dollars in advertising
revenue. In addition to handling all of the print and Web sales, he
worked with marketing to develop branding strategies and produced CD
samplers inserted into issues of Metal Edge and Metal Maniacs that generated
additional revenue and helped differentiate each title from its competitors
in a highly competitive niche market.
During his decade-long tenure under three separate owners, in addition
to overseeing ad sales for Metal Edge and Metal Maniacs, Dov led a sales
team in generating outstanding revenue from many other titles, including
Gene Simmons Tongue; Right On!; Black Beat; True Story; Relix; Global
Rhythm; Wrestling World, and many one-off publications.
In January of 2009 The Teta Marketing Group was launched. Dov has surrounded
himself with a team of experienced and savvy industry professionals
who can provide clients with the information and expertise they need
to succeed in reaching their targeted audience.

Dov
Teta lives in New Jersey with his wife, daughter and two cats. In his
free time, he owns and operates the record label, Play
The Assassin Records. When the mood strikes, Dov also maintains
